8-Way Hand Tied Construction vs Pirelli Webbing: Which is Better?
Posted by A. Morris on 7/19/2010 to Sofas & Recliners
The traditional method for creating support in sofas is called 8-way hand tied. Within this constuction method a series of twine is hand tied in eight different directions. Of course, the advantage of this is durability. Sofas made this way have been known to last for many decades.

One drawback to 8-way hand tied seating is the cost due to the labor involved in this type of construction. Sofas made in this fashion can retail for several hundred dollars more than sofas made using Pirelli webbing which uses a series of springs or coils that are covered by a synthetic webbing. An advantage of the Pirelli seating system is that it is less expensive to repair compared to a 8 way hand tied sofa.

But, ultimately the choice is up to you.  Dependent on your needs is what determines the best sofa for you and your family.
