Product Description Romantic Figures 6 is a series of six playful prints reminiscent of illustrated playing cards. The series is a delightful mash-up of early synthetic Cubist sentiments and bold German Expressionist figures. Synthetic Cubism of the early 20th century began to blur the boundaries between painting and sculpture by offering a new understanding of the pictorial surface. During the same time, German Expressionism broke away from traditional norms of representing the human figure.
In Romantic Figures 6, the royal prince stands determined at court confident of his position. Wearing a dark crown, he calculatingly balances an apple in the palm of his hand. His hunter-green robe tops his Cubist truncated khaki trousers. He claims his fate.
