Like many people across the country, you may not have been prepared for the quarantine and having to work from home for an extended period of time. Your home might not have a spare bedroom designed as a home office or even have a desk to work at. While sitting on the sofa with your laptop may have worked in the beginning of the process, eventually it can give you a sore back from poor posture or you may find the TV as a distraction from work. Create a space that will increase your productivity from home.
Turn an Extra Room into A Home Office
If you have a spare bedroom that you haven’t been able to find a great purpose for, use this room as an opportunity to create your ideal home office. Create a traditional style office with dark wood furniture, a large executive desk, and a leather sofa or club chair, or modernize your home office with a slender desk, lighter colored furniture, and a cowhide rug.

Place a Desk Behind the Sofa
While traditionally a sofa table goes behind the couch, many modern homes are instead placing a small desk in this spot. If you don’t have a spare room to turn into a home office, adding a desk to the living room is a great way to give yourself a proper working area with a comfy desk chair and a desk to hold your laptop and work papers. If you have small children, this is also a convenient location for you to work efficiently while keeping an eye on the little ones as they watch TV or play games in the living room.

Set Up A Loft Home Office
Loft space can appear awkward and sometimes finding the perfect use for this area is a challenge. Using this area for a workstation is a great solution. Even if the loft space is tight, a small desk with one or two filing cabinets could fit nicely into a quaint loft home office.

Use the Space in Front of the Window
Often times there is unused space in front of or in between windows in the living room, kitchen, or even bedroom. This could be the perfect location for a workspace. Natural light is sure to increase productivity and a unique desk and chair can add style to any room.
